Salad is for me a perfect way to bring a healthy diet to the table, even when you serve it by it self or as a side dish. My little boy was not too keen on eating salads, but when he tried tuna this tuna salad, he never more stopped, and sometimes, he ask to at breakfast, imagine. Then the beautiful part about salad is the freshness that you feel tasting it, an immediate sensation of healthiness when you eat it.
No worries if you are not fun, I will quickly let you know that you can mix and match what you love in the salad till you find the right combination for you. You can choose from seafood salads, meat salads, egg salads, fish salad, or just simple vegetarians ones, And I will be extremely clear advocating that you always use extra virgin olive oil for seasoning, as the benefits are immense. But can be nice to mix salad souces, or mayo if you fancy it. Then let us start with an easy-to-do tuna salad.
Healthy Tuna Salad Recipe
Ingredients:
1 Canned tuna in brail or girasol oil
1 Red pepper
1 Medium onion
1 Boiled egg
1 Carrot
2 medium tomatoes
200g of lettuce
Parsley
Olive oil q.b
Salt q.b
Vinegar q.b
Preparation 10 minutes
1- Let the egg boiling.
Wash the lettuce, the red pepper, and the tomatoes.
In a big bowl use your fingers to break the lettuce into pieces.
Cutt the tomatoes in tinny circled slices.
Use the pepper now cutting in thin strips, and cut the onion in thin circles.
2- Use the egg cutting also in circles, and cut the carrot in circles for decoration,
or scrap it in the mixture.
Open the tuna can, let all the liquid dry before trow it in the bowel.
3- Time to season it, just be careful with the salt, use vinegar as you like, and pour olive oil in a circular motion, just a tiny bit. Spread the parsley and voila
ready to eat bon appetit.
