What to do when you cannot stop watching the news?



The world looks crazy when you take a look at all the recent events. From coronavirus pandemic, wars, environmental issues that are finally knocking at our doors, everything is so intense.

But at what point is being addicted to checking in the news every minute, waiting for the next bad thing to happen is beneficial for your mental health?

If you have been checking the latest news you will agree with me that they repeatedly give us the same information in different ways, all day long or sometimes weekly.

And I understand that we have to be informed to know what to do because of the virus and be in the same way connected with the rest of the world's latest information.


Despite our distance from fare way countries we are connected as human beings, and we like to think that by watching their suffering we are going true the same thing. But at what point do we cross the line, off stopping living, making plans for the future, and believing in a better world, to the side of stop caring, and feeling that the world is ending?


In this article, I will bring you to a different reality, one that is the only one that matters in the end, because is the present moment.

This will be great to help you get out of all negativity, but also help you deal with breaking the pattern of looking for something bad that is happening in the news.

You can still check the news for a minute or two a day, but without living it, or feel that is impacting your mood.



When reading this right now, I need you to stop and look around the place you are, if in your living room, or in your office, or even outside at the bus stop. Look up and around you, breathe deeply and see the space around you. What do you see?

Touch the seat, or the wall to feel the texture, is it cold or warm?

This exercise is meant to bring you to the present moment, and make you feel secured and calm because right now, and right here everything is perfect.


We have the ability to transform our feelings and emotions, and that is made with the control of how we react to things in the first place, but also how we perceive our environment and if we feel unsafe or safer.

Being capable of working on our perception of the world also shows us that we can transform how much you are really capable of interviewing for a better solution.

If we are more connected to our inner self, feeling also a better connection to the world around us, we can have ideas that will be beneficial for the problems around us. Using our inspiration to help to create a better word, instead of living in fear of the future, I think we can agree that will definitely be a better way of living.

So get up forget the past, enjoy the present moment. And this news is old news anyway, let’s us do a better future together with the power of living inspired and having faith in a much better world.


To overcome watching the news all the time take out your notifications on your phone, and just check it quickly once a day, as if you see one time, will be the same old news later.

I understand we all have to see the latest government statement about the pandemic situation, then just try to keep the interest as pure information as it is and let it go, without any conflict.

Remember to deal with whatever problems seem to happen, when they arrive, till that moment peace yourself as we do with children, saying that is all okay, and all will be fine.


Find things that you really enjoy doing, and do it instead of scroll the phone. Every time you start looking for the news, remember for example to listen to your favorite song, or read a book, or just go for a walk.



Create your own news, use a diary to write on there the news you would like to receive daily. Play with your imagination and right in there things as, I just being promoted, I am receiving 3 times more money than before, I am with my desired body, healthy, rich, and full of love.

These sentences have to be made in the present moment to give clear instructions that this is part of your new experience and use your imagination to visualize your reactions to all this good news, When you grasp the feeling of excitement, use this feeling to feel more confident about your true potential to achieve whatever you truly desired.


Keep yourself busy, remember you have places to go, people to see, and things to say. Live, smile, dance, and learn how to to make your news, to be always good news.
